Heinz Cibulka was born in Vienna in 1943. From 1957 to 1961 he attended the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna.
Since 1972 he creates photo cycles and picture poems, objects and object pictures, digital picture collages and various media works in collaboration with other artists. In addition to his pictorial works, he also creates lyrical and conceptual texts, performances and installations.
His works include: Leading various photo classes at the International Summer Academy Salzburg and at the Weinviertler Fotowochen, as well as workshops and lectures at home and abroad, 1989 - 2002 organization of various events at FLUSS Nö-Fotoinitiative, 1997-98 visiting professor for artistic photography at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna; since 1980 numerous documentations of the actions of Hermann Nitsch.
