Thomas Kaminsky *1945 Dresden. Studied in Berlin with Hann Trier. 1977 Karl Schmidt Rotluff scholarship. 1979 Villa Massimo Scholarship Rome. Lives and works in Cologne and Vienna.
Thomas Kaminsky has created an extensive oeuvre. His position evolved from the tradition of informal painting of the 1950s, in which composition and colour were primarily subordinated to the gestural brush stroke.
In addition to panel paintings, hand drawings, woodcuts and wall paintings, Kaminsky has created a number of unique books, objects and site-specific works.
